The cover of the English first edition published by Hamish Hamilton Ltd in 1958. The jacket design is credited to Patricia Davey - about whom little has been recorded, but was evidentially a prolific illustrator in the 1950s and 60s and co-editor of Ark: The Journal of the Royal College of Art, Issues #11 & #12 (1954).
