Make Blackout Poetry

Blackout poetry is created by removing ("blacking out") parts of an existing text to leave your own choice of words.  This introduction to the genre by poet John Carroll, founded of the Instagram community Make Blackout Poetry, provides an introduction covering both editorial and visual aspects as well as examples of finished pieces. The book also contains a wide selection of texts from authors such as Shakespeare, Austen and Wilde as well as from dictionaries, fairy tales, sheet music and many other diverse genres and formats, that can be remixed to make your own poems.
