This hand-painted wooden toy, crafted to resemble a stack of leather-bound volumes, is a book lover's version of the old folk puzzle named after the biblical ladder to heaven in Jacob's dream. The toy works by creating an optical illusion that the top book is falling down the stack to the bottom, whereas in fact there is no change in order of the books, they simply reverse position in the stack. A classic amusement, enjoyed by young and old for centuries, our literary Jacob's Ladder is great for reflection, inspiration and fun.
